425A Cabinet and YJM-100 ???

Postby ykcor1138 » 17 Jan 2012, 05:45

First off... I love my Vintage Modern and would like the matching cab, but I also own YJM and the current cab I am running is not a good fit. I found a really good deal on a Vintage Modern 425A Cabinet. QUESTION.... Is YJM-100 a good fit with this cab???? I know the 425A has a form of greenbacks installed. Has anyone tried this combination yet and if so how does it sound?

I run the YJM thru the Vintage Modern 4X12 cabs. I got a straight and slant. Currently running it thru the straight cab. They got G12C's, the same speaker they used in the Hendrix JTM 45/100 cabs. I think it's a great combo. I love Greenbacks

I just viewed the “rig rundown - yngwie Malmsteen Premier Guitar” video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDhNu0x6QgY

I was surprised to see that he has what looks like a 1960ax cabinet with a plastic logo on the lower left that says “YJM100 Yngwie Malmsteen” on it. :wtf
I have NOT seen these offered on the Marshall sight.
Is it possible there were special order cabinets not released to the general public? :dunno

Interesting: It doesn't look like the one at Andertons has the plastic logo on the lower left corner...
It looks just like my old 1960ax. Except I think mine has g12m speakers in it. I should check.. :dunno
In any case, I like the way it sounds. I guess that is all that really counts. :yea

I think he has the AX/BX cabs for the vintage looks but loads G12T75s in them.

surfnorthwest is correct, its a bit unusual i'm no amp expert, but i did a fair bit of looking around on the net before i ordered mine & saw that Yngwie preferred the look of the 1960ax but wasn't interested in the greenbacks!
You're not going to believe this but where i ordered my head from asked if i wanted a cab ordering & i said only if you can match Andertons price before i was aware what was in the Yngwie cab.
They did me a 1960ax for £499!
So thanks Yngwie :Thumbs you saved me a few £££ :beerme

It´s possible to custom order a cab like a 1860 AX with 75 W from marshall i think but it will cost you more.
